The Impermanent Society of Philadelphia (ISOP) is a Philadelphia based organization that is focused on promoting the Free Improvisation art forms. Via our inaugural event, the NowHere Festival (10/19 - 10/25), ISOP will produce a week-long program consisting of youth and adult workshops, panel discussions, professional development, community outreach, and performances.

NowHere Festival

The Impermanent Society of Philadelphia (ISOP) is pleased to announce the NowHere Festival of Free Improvisation in Sound and Movement, October 19 - October 25 2015 Mascher Space, Philadelphia.

Dedicated to promoting the Free Improvisation art forms, the festival will include world-class movement and sound artists from across the US and Philadelphia.

The weeklong festival includes a wide range of programming:
• 3 days of Performance
• Weeklong Adult Master Classes
• Youth education
• Panel Discussion at Temple University
• Scholarly presentation throughout the festival

H-O-T Series of Philadelphia

The H-O-T Series of Philadelphia, produced by the Impermanent Society of Philadelphia (ISOP), is a seasonal performance event that highlights the playful interaction between movement and sound artists as live composition.

The series was originated by dance artist Loren Groenendaal and experimental percussionist Flandrew Fleisenberg with support from mascher space co-op.
